David Brenton "Spud" Cameron

2013
David Brenton (Spud) Cameron Age 76 of East Royalty passed away peacefully in Charlottetown, with loving family by his side on Feb 22, 2013. Born in Hampton, PEIJune 11, 1936, Brent was the oldest son of the late David Cameron and Winifred Cameron Miller (Farrow).

Brent proudly served his country as a member of the Royal Canadian Navy for 22 years as a Sonar Technician. Upon his retirement he managed the Wagon Wheel Lounge in Shannon Park for many years. Dad loved relaxing at the family cottage in East Jeddore and in his young Navy days enjoyed many fishing trips to Mooseland with his buddies, where great times were had by all.
In 1981 Brent and his family moved home to Prince Edward Island. An avid reader and outdoorsman, his passions included reading numerous newspapers from cover to cover with his black lab Brooke by his side, boating, fishing and clam digging – there isn’t a sandbar in PEI that he hasn’t taken a shovel to. A lifelong hockey fan, his favourite hockey team was the Toronto Maple leafs with a close second being the Boston Bruins.

Brent was very close to and adored his family and is survived by his loving wife Verna Cameron (MacLeod), daughters Joanne (Calvin) Ehler, Dartmouth, Darlene, Dartmouth, sons David (Mickey) Cameron, Mount Uniacke, Steven, Charlottetown, Craig, Charlottetown, sister Florence (John) Cameron, Earnscliffe PEI, brother Charlie, Charlottetown, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews.
